Finice "F L" Sutherland

January 2, 1930 - January 16, 2022

Finice Loyd Sutherland age 92, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 in Brownwood. Family will host a visitation on Tuesday January 18th from 6 to 8 pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday at the Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood with Pastor Brian Hall officiating. F.L. was born on Thursday, January 2, 1930 in Boerne, Texas to William and Nannie Sutherland. He attended school in Santa Anna through the 6th grade, until he was old enough to work and help provide for his family. Finice married Joyce June McQueen on August 5, 1950 and began a life together that blessed them with 2 children. Finice loved to travel. He would tell the kids, "Let's go for a drive", and they would end up finding themselves several hundred miles away before their little drive was over. He enjoyed mowing with his John Deere mower, and keeping his yard nicely groomed. Finice loved get togethers, spending time with his family and friends. He loved spending his days with his furry friend (Princess) and enjoyed listening to Loretta Lynn. Finice loved the Lord and his church. Finice is survived by children, Joyce Bell and husband David of Brownwood, Mike Sutherland and wife Morrisa of Brownwood; 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife June Sutherland in 2014.
