Kenneth Smith, 78, of Comanche, passed away in Rising Star, Thursday November 19, 2020. Services are being arranged through Heartland Funeral & Cremations of Comanche. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday December 12, 2020, at the funeral Pavilion of the Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche, TX. A private inurnment will be held by the family. Condolences to the family can be left online at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net or the register book can be signed at the funeral home.Kenneth Ory Smith was born March 12, 1942, in Gorman TX, to William Ory and Ottie Lorene (Parkman) Smith. Kenneth attended school in Comanche and later went to work as a commercial truck driver. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many fun times hunting, fishing, and camping. Kenneth enjoyed attending Cowboy Church in Comanche and spending time with his downtown coffee drinking buddies.Kenneth is survived by son, Mike Smith and wife Debbie of Gainesville, TX, daughter, Cherie Evans husband Lynn of Dublin, TX, and son, Harry Dale Smith of Proctor, TX.; 7 grandchildren, Crystale Cabe, Cortney Hewett, Jody Smith, Jake Hodges, Robyn Holloway, Jesse Hodges, and Brody Smith; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Genetha Andrews of Comanche, TX and Jearldine Kincheloe of Palestine, TX. Brother, Vernon Smith of May, TX; numerous nieces & nephews, and many family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, William Ory and Ottie Lorene Smith; brothers, Paul Smith and Charles Smith.
