Ruth Marie Witzsche, 90, of Priddy, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Heartland Funeral & Cremations of Comanche is in charge of a graveside service to celebrate Ruth’s life. It will be held at 3 p.m. Friday the 23rd in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Mills County near Priddy, with Pastor Mark Schimmel officiating. The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Heartland Funeral Home in Comanche. Viewing for Mrs. Witzsche will continue Friday 9:00 until 12Noon. Ruth Marie Rost was born August 29, 1930, in Priddy, to Edward and Juliana Bertha (Kunkel) Rost. Ruth attended school and graduated in Priddy. She grew up with three brothers Clarence, Edward, and Walter Rost. Ruth met Wilford Witzsche after his return to Pottsville from Overseas following World War II. They were married and lived in the Priddy area where they worked their farm together. Ruth worked for many years as a wedding dress designer and maker, and later became a Beautician serving many of the women in the Priddy-Goldthwaite area. Ruth is survived by daughters, Darlene Wells and Evelyn Gilchrist; grandson, James Gilchrist; granddaughters, Stephanie Staton, Deborah Harrison, and Elizabeth (Beth) Hallum; great granddaughters, Sabrina Staton, and Hadlee Marie Harrison; great grandson, Liam Harrison. She was preceded in death by husband Wilford Witzsche; great granddaughter, Bailey Marie Harrison; parents, Edward Rost and Juliana Bertha Kunkel Rost; brothers, Clarence Rost, Edward Rost, and Walter Rost.
